First room-the second BR was completely smokey, so back to the front desk. Very co-operative, understanding and changed our ... suite immediately. Rooms were spacious, loved having washer/dryer/dishwasher for family of 6. Carpet could be updated but it was clean. Everything else was great. Thankful the "concierge"/timeshare recruiter left us alone after a couple of no's at check-in. Small-med tvs if that's a big thing for you, they were fine for us. Having the option of somewhat reasonable, fast internet was great-$7 a day or $20 for 3, something else for a week, I don't remember. Still, some places the internet is iffy, but it was very good and fast. Williamsburg area is so very, very spread out, that's the only thing that keeps me from checking super location. Very quiet, closest to Jamestown, almost the same to Williamsburg. We also went to Yorktown and Nauticus...excellent trip and if we get to go back (which we all do want to!) we'd love to stay there again. If you have AZA/ASTC passes (you can get from certain zoos/science centers) then there is a lot free. Nauticus was free, Air and Space didn't offer a discount or anything. There were others also that qualify on the pass. The ship USS Wisconsin is free to all, but the Nauticus museum was really interesting and our boys enjoyed it a lot. We also did BOTH Jamestowns--historical and settlement, I didn't really understand with online research ahead of time, so I'll note that we LOVED doing both--2 admission costs though--Historical J is where the settlement actually was, the archearium was not to miss. Also, they have a Jr. Ranger program where kids get a book, fill out 5 of the activities, and the ranger quizzes them and gives a nice badge ($1.75 each-for the book and patch) Helped the kids stay focused on thinking about the info. Very nice. Also, don't miss the glass blower there, way cool. The Settlement is entered via a huge, HUGE brick building which has tons of info/artifacts/exhibits, the Indian village is GREAT (so hands on-tons of furs on the beds they could "sleep" on-my boys were so impressed with that) and the ships of course were wonderful, re-enactors amazing and patient and kind. We did both in one day so we could get to other stuff, but you can spend a whole day in either. Yorktown not so much time (at least for us, lots of grounds to walk), still lots of great information about the forming of our nation. There's a restaurant down by the bridge, it's a sub/pizza place, you can play in the sand, take a blanket and eat by the York River. A fabulous end for us, and even in Nov, it was the best weather we could imagine.

The maps do not match the roads. We tried several (maps), so take extra time for navigation errors. Ironbound road is in a couple different places and one map showed 3 different state route 5s in a 5 mile circumference. Get directions from the hotel (to get there), not internet/GPS mapping like we did. Agreed with other posts--there is NOTHING within several miles of the hotel, but east on Monticello there are some things. Not a whole lot, but restaurants and Target. Nothing is open late off-season. Nice and quiet though. New Town down Monticello has all kinds of great restaurants, from Cheeburger Cheeburger to way nice.

You may have issues finding dining in the area, especially in the late evening after a full day at the amusement parks. If you don't plan on cooking dinner in the kitchen, the best places to eat are on Route 60 next to Williamsburg. There are several clusters of chain restaurants around that area with extended hours. They usually serve food until 11 or midnite on weekdays.

This was actually a timeshare hotel. After checking in, was sent to the concierge's desk to pick up parking pass. After ... being given excellent location information was asked if we wanted to 'do the tour'. I declined and that was that. No pressure. Day 1 we visited Yorktown Victory center. The 'museum' was not interesting to my kids (under 8), but they loved the school for the soldier and other reinactors. Day 2 we vistied Jamestown Settlement. This was very hands-on. The 'museum' and films were all recently redone and top notch I might add. The kids got to do something hands-on at every stop. We all walked away with smiles. After 2 long days I feel it is time to mention the stay. The beds were amazing. Kids stayed in room with 2 doubles. We had king size. Everyone's favorite room though was the bathroom. The Jacuzzi tub and steam shower eased all our aches. And yes, I said steam shower, as in sauna, in our room! The in room washer/dryer also helped! The next day we planned to visit Williamsburg, but saw a commercial for the Virginia Zoo only an hour away in Norfolk. Thought the kids would like that better, and they did! From the zoo we traveled another 20 mins to the Chesapeake bay bridge-tunnel. An 18 mile bridge with 2 under water tunnel sections. It cost us $17 dollars for the round trip, but was worth it. The only negative comment I can come up with is that the internet was pay to browse. They did have 2 free computers in the check-in lobby though. Very great experience. Had fun in Williamsburg without going to Historic Williamsburg or Bush Gardens. Try it!

We were originally booked for the sister hotel but were later transferred to Powhatan and promised an newly remodeled unit. ... When we arrived I had to request again a remodeled room. The supervisor for check in was nice and accomodated me. However had I not made a request I doubt we would have been issued a newly remodeled unit. Everything in the unit was nice. The only negatives were the dryer that didn't dry the first time but needed two times to thoroughly dry. Also the walls are fairly thin and the unit above us though not loud we could hear them walking around etc. It is a guarded hotel( guard at entrance gate) and therefore made you feel safer.

I will be honest, I almost passed Greensprings by after reading some posted comments but I am SO glad I reconsidered. It was ... my task to locate the "perfect" accommodations for our annual "girl" trip. I am happy to report we were all very pleased with the selection! Our place was spotless and well appointed. All staff were courteous and helpful. Location was close to Colonial Williamsburg, shopping and restaurants. Only tasks were to take out the garbage and run the dishwasher upon departure. Will definitely book another stay when we return to visit Jamestown!

Unfortunately, we were only there one night. We had a 2 bedroom condo, and after Busch Gardens and shopping all day, it was ... a truly pleasant surprise that the room was ready a little early and just a really nice place. Everyone went for a swim after dinner and the indoor and outdoor pool (still open and kind of cold, but enjoyable) were a huge plus for our family. It would be a great place for a family reunion. Everyone could find something to do.

Good Stay
Lentiya Sep 8, 2009
Our family stayed here from Tues-Friday so it was pretty quiet. We had a downstairs unit and the people upstairs were a ... little heavy footed and there were ants near the sink in the kitchen. They were tiny ants and we didn't use the kitchen so it wasn't a major issue but still. There was an empty water bottle under one of the beds and the living room funiture had some stains, but other than that it was a nice space to stay better than a regular hotel room. We had a two bedroom suite and that was enough space for 4 people to strech out. The pool and children's area was very nice and clean. They had a big movie screen and they had a disney movie at about 8:30 one night for the kids by the pool and that was nice. The location is awesome if you are going to the downtown Williamsburg sites, Busch Gardens and Watercountry. Also 2 minutes up the road they have a grocery store and some restuarants and shops if you need them. Very Nice. They staff is also very nice. I would recommend this place and I would stay again. And check out was a breeze.

I give the hotel 4.5! I only have two negative things which did not take away my enjoyment of the trip. The down button for ... the tv was missing and there was a dead animal that was thrown behind the pool bar trash and was smelling at the toddler's pool but not in the adult pool. It was gone the next day. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, especially the master bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen and dining room were a good size and have complete utensils. For a family vacation in Williamsburg, this was the way to go. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for just slightly more than a ... standard hotel room. We saved money by eating some meals in the condo. The kitchen was well-stocked and clean. The whole unit was very clean. The whirlpool tub was a nice feature and a hit with the kids. We enjoyed the resort's pools, putt-putt course, and ping pong table. There were plenty of other amenities that we just didn't have time to do. Staff was friendly and accomodating. We will definitely stay at this resort again if we vacation in Williamsburg.
