Great place to stay!
Thierry G Aug 4, 2009
The hotel is actually located in the historic part of Galveston near the Strand so there are plenty of bars and restaurants ... nearby. However it is quite far from the ocean. The room was large with high ceilings and is appropriately furnished. The beds are just wonderful. The only thing is that the room was not fully cleaned: there was still sand on the floor, there was long black hair in the washbasin and the coffee pot hadn't been emptied. You wouldn't expect that in that kind of place!!! Otherwise this is a great place to stay! The bar is very nice too!

We had dinner (2502 Seawall Blvd)in Fish Tales: The staff is very friendly and there's a wide range of fish dishes. We had oysters and a seafood platter.

Wonderful getaway
Bertie Jul 30, 2009
My hubby and I had the best time ever! The entire getaway was awesome. We did some shopping on the Strand. The hotel is in a ... wonderful location within walking distance to the Strand and to some wonderful restaurants. Although we only stayed a few nights in Galveston, it was relaxing and the hotel was very charming. My hubby is ready to go back soon.

Beautiful Hotel - Poor customer service
PB Jul 27, 2009
This is a lovely, historic hotel. Our room was large, with 2 beds and a sitting area. However, the service was horrible. ... The staff claimed they did not have our reservation, despite our providing the confirmation number. They were rude and dismissive. They made no attempt to assist me until Orbitz contacted them to resolve the matter. Also, we called to get our car from valet and the front desk told us no one was at the valet stand and to call back later. We will not return to this hotel due to the poor service and lack of courtesy.

4th of July at the Tremont

While we were there, we ate at some wonderful resturants that the hotel suggested. We saw fireworks from the roof top and it ... was amazing! We swam at the sister hotel and that was very cool.

Great one day getaway for our 8 year ann
Ivank Jun 23, 2009
It was awesome. Our room was super clean. Air conditioning worked extremely well. The gentlemen who met us at the entrance ... was fantastic and very friendly. The continental breakfast was over the top. For a hotel that had only been open for 3 weeks I believe it was one of the best experiences we have had in a long time.

My review of Wyndham Tremont House Hotel
Joyce Jul 15, 2008
Very modern decor and comfortable room, fluffy towels in the chic black and white bathroom. Our 15 yr. granddaughter was ... definitely impressed. We enjoyed the piano player in the ball one evening. Great margueritas! Convenient valet parking with speedy and courteous attendants. It was fun staying in the older part of Galveston. Enjoyed Moody Gardens and many other tourist attractions.

Great historic hotel
Gary Jul 1, 2008
This hotel is the perfect venue for a couples weekend. The room was fabulous, although the bed was a bit firm for my taste. ... The staff is friendly and professional. A few things to take into consideration. If you are going to Galveston to spend most of your time at the beach, this may not be the place for you. It's about 15 blocks off the seawall. If you are going for the history, site seeing, good restaurants, etc. This is the place to stay. Walking distance to several restaurants on the Strand but we were approached by at least one local asking for money the evening we walked. I suggest driving to any destination even if it is within walking distance. Can't say enough good things about the actual hotel, though. The room is spacious, high ceilings, beautifully appointed, elegant entrance and public areas, and very clean. And let's not forget turndown service and mints on the pillow. Can't resist those!

Crabcake at Fisherman's Wharf was worth every penny! Next trip we intend to try Merchant Prince - the restaurant in the hotel. It looks very inviting.

Our Honeymoon
Darlene Jun 9, 2008
Being still in our wedding attire, upon check-in we were immediately upgraded to a suite. It was beyond my fantasy of a ... honeymoon suite. The high ceilings and decor of the room were fantastic. The bedroom was a dream(very comfortable too). The bathroom was unbelievable-hot towels were available. And they had robes, which I did get to use. We had dinner in the restaurant, by candelight. I felt like a queen being served. Next morning we ordered room service-excellent service. The whole experience at this hotel made our honeymoon priceless and unforgetable. Thank you Wyndham Tremont House Hotel!
