Great Location, but
First time NYC Nov 16, 2009
This was my first time in NYC and everything was great except for the bedding in the hotel room. The hotel location was ... great, staff was helpful and quick to take care of my situation when I reported it. Another guest complained of bedbugs and he was switched to a new room. Overall I would recommed the hotel, but with reservations.

Parking Validation: Ask the hotel staff - preferably before arrival - about the parking place across the street. After validation, it cost only $20/day! (I didn't know about it until after I parked at a farther and more expensive place...)

Don't do it
Shoebox Nov 1, 2009
I love New York City. This hotel did have a good location (the North end of Time Square, at 50th), but that is about all the ... positives. Rude staff, loud, tiny rooms, not very clean and a really uncomfortable bed. Good luck.

Won't be returning to this hotel
mk traveler Sep 7, 2009
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We chose it for the reasonable price and location. The accommodations were less than ... favorable. The mattress was lumpy and uneven, and it dipped in the middle. On several days, the housekeeping staff didn't leave us any towels. They often forgot to include washcloths, and each time they forgot, we had to call the front desk several times to get new ones. Also, the free coffee in the lobby was terrible on weekdays (a cheap coffee to save costs, perhaps). They offer a better option over the weekend. All of these things could easily be improved to offer customers a better hotel experience! We will not be returning to this hotel for our next NYC trips.

Decent Space
ZADO Apr 22, 2009
The hotel is very easy to miss. The name of the hotel is a small gold tag to the left of the door. Very Tiny Lobby with no ... privacy from conversation. No bar. Rooms are very small but similar ot other smaller hotels. Interesting that the bathroom was very large and almost a third of the size of the bedroom. Location is OK for being in middle of Theater district. Would look for other place.

Great place 2 leave your stuff and sleep
Transient Teacher Mar 3, 2009
When I travel, my hotel room is only good for two things: storing my luggage and sleeping. I want to be close to the action, ... the sights, the food. I'm a single guy and that's all I need. The Amsterdam Court Hotel is by far the best hotel for those wants in NY. Small room? So what. The bed was comfy. The heat worked. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The location was perfect: broadway shows, Times Square, 30 Rock, Radio City Music Hall, Central Park, MoMA, restaurants and hole-in-the-walls. Just don't forget to bring a good pair of walking shoes.

The Irish pub just a few doors down had an amazing Irish breakfast. Brunch lasts until after lunch if you have to sleep in. Grab a pint while you're there too. Also the sushi bar on the bottom floor of the hotel was really good.

Not what expected...
Issy Feb 27, 2009
Our first impression of the hotel was good. Great location and nice front desk/lobby area. From the beginning the staff was ... not so friendly, but its NYC. We got a room on the first floor. The room was small but it looked very nice, my first disappointment came when I check the bathroom. It was dirty, used towels on the floor, trash on the can, and used personal care items. You could tell that the house keeping person didnt even open the door of the bathroom to pick up towels. I went to the front desk and I ask them to send somebody with clean towels and pick up the trash, since we were staying just for one night I though it wasnt necessary to send a person to clean up the whole bathroom. The person came with the towels and pick up the trash but nobody apologize for the inconvenient. I booked a room in this hotel based on peoples reviews and good comments about the cleanness of the place. The room was very cold during the night and early in the morning there was a lot of noise coming from the hallway&.So& we had a horrible night. I think we got the worst room because the whole place looked nice, and I am not sure why if we book the room months in advance it wasnt like a last minute deal. I'm not sure if I would recomend this place to anyone.

Photo VERY misleading
Disappointed Traveler Feb 16, 2009
The lobby is gorgeous and is definitely the only thing that has been remodeled. We got to our room and opened the door, and ... the door just about hit the bed! It was a double bed with about 1 foot of room around it. Very, very, very small. We asked about upgrading to a larger bed/room as the bed was small and the mattress was something a homeless person wouldn't enjoy. We were sent to their sister hotel - which, to my not so happy surprise, was the hotel pictured on the Amsterdam site. So, you are seeing another hotel, NOT the Amsterdam. Needless to say that hotel was amazing and we'll be staying there next time.

Great Location, Great Staff
Wilfredo Oct 26, 2008
The hotel location was extremely excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful.Although the rooms are small, it was ok ... to sleep after partying in the city. They can have a better a/c since it is small and take longer to get a comfortable temperature. The bathroom was modern and clean. One thing they can improve is to have better ventilation in the halls, to avoid the humid smell. Other than a little pricey, the rest of the stay was excellent. All the good stuff of New York is right out the door.

Jennifer Jun 29, 2008
The Amsterdam Court Hotel was in a great location, close to the theaters, restaurants and Times Square. It was also very ... convenient to get to virtually all the tourist destinations as they easily within walking distance and cabs were available on Broadway. The room was small but the bed was comfortable and the hotel staff were very knowledgable and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to a friend and stay here again.

My review of Amsterdam Court Hotel
Elizabeth Apr 3, 2008
The overall experience was pleasant. The room itsself clean, comfortable but small. The bathroom was so small you had to sit ... on the toilet sideways. In the bath there is a painted pipe that I now know gets extremely hot. (have the burn to prove it!)I beleive there should be a sign caution pipe gets hot I told the front desk but the comment I got was you could move to another room, at least now you know it's there! It would be nice to have a little more room to get ready in the bathroom such as a vanity. Overall good stay.
