Great room, friendly staff, great FREE breakfast. our room was right next to the free breakfast area, so it was a little ... noisy in the morning, but other than that, clean, quiet, and affordable (at least in the off season). Location was great - literally just outside the Grand Canyon National Park south entrance. If I'm ever lucky enough to go back to the Grand Canyon, I know where I'll be staying!

The hotel staff was great. We asked about the best places to see the grand canyon at the front desk and they gave us great ... recommendations. We got the best view of the sunrise and sunset. We had a small problem with the internet but maintenance showed up quickly and fixed the problem. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Visiting the Grand Canyon? Of course you are. Your first stop should be the IMAX experiance. You buy your pass to the canyon right there at the theater. They have every souvenier available anywhere in the park.

We were down graded into the annex which did not have a pool. It had a therapy spa, but not all the jets worked. The room ... was small, although it was clean and the staff were very helpful. The hotel did not offer guests the use of a computer, rather offered a discount to an internet cafe across the street and down the road.

We got there late and tired and had a few minutes finding our annex building room which I will credit my long day of ... driving. After a good sleep we got a very good stay included breakfast. I can not say enough good things about the location which is about a mile from the park entrance and gives you the extra time and conditions to enjoy the park.

Perfect location if you're wanting to visit the Grand Canyon. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance for ... your convenience. The room was promptly cleaned daily. The staff was very knowledgeable of the area and readily gave directions and helpful suggestions for family activities. Had a hot breakfast but would have wanted the time extended until 10 a.m. We would stay there again without hesitation.

We really didn't do anything but sleep at the hotel. It's conveniently located from Grand Cayon and there are restaurants, ... markets, etc. nearby. The rate was a bit pricey since it was exactly the same as the the pricier hotels in the Grand Canyon. But the room was spacious for the 2 of us and it was clean. The staff were nice despite the fact that they were very vusy.

This hotel is situated in the town of Tusayan, about 7 miles outside of the Grand Canyon. It was a great location for us. ... Very convenient, and worth saving some money to be outside the park. We rented a car, which was helpful in getting around to the outskirts. However, there is a free shuttle that stops minutes from the hotel and takes you throughout the Grand Canyon for free! We stayed in a King Suite and were pleased with the large room, wireless internet and breakfast buffet. When our in room fridge didn't work, they replaced it with one that did. There was also a microwave in the room. The hotel is walking distance to an IMAX theater, the free shuttle into the Grand Canyon, and several reasonable eating options.

Take advantage of the free shuttle to get from Tusayan into the Grand Canyon, especially during the busy tourist season when there may not be enough parking on site.

Holiday Inn Express Tusayan was great!
KR Cracker Aug 4, 2009
This hotel was in a great location, right outside of the park and on the shuttle route. We stayed in the suites and our room ... was awesome for the price compared to other hotel prices. There was a flat screen TV in the front room and a CRT TV in the bedroom. The room was very clean and somewhat nicely decorated. There was a microwave and small fridge and a bathtub in the bathroom. The customer service was excellent - great front desk staff. There were only a couple of downfalls. The pool is pretty small and the hot tub in our building had no towels. There is also nothing to eat in this hotel, except the express breakfast. The breakfast is okay - very limited hot food options and no fresh fruit. I really think they deserve 4.5 stars.
Traveler type: Couples
I recommend walking over to the Best Western to eat at their buffet or steakhouse, or eat inside the park at the restaurant at the Bright Angle Lodge (Arizona room I think). Avoid the places on Hwy 64, like Spaghetti Western...really bad food.
