This was my first trip to Vegas, so the hotel experience overall was great. I shared the room with two other people, and it ... was spacious enough to accomodate all three of us. One thing that I really appreciated about the hotel was that the room was cleaned on a daily basis. Although there was a big casino, bar, and three to four clubs in the lobby, the hotel had so many floors that the noise was not heard on the floor that I stayed on which was the 25th. I stayed for five days and overall I was content. I do recommend eating outside of the hotel because a philly cheese steak and fries will run you $14. But do stop by the Fat Tuesday bar on the way to the parking garage for $1 jello shots made from 153 grain alcohol and $1 mother puckers coming in three flavors.

Did visit other hotels however it did not match up to the MGM. The MGM offered more restaurants, shopping, louges, and loved ... the amtosphere. It had other things to do besides gambling. Loved the shows. One thing was missing, free entertainment like maybe piano at the bar, or singing.

A great value buy!
Carol, visiting family Dec 13, 2009
I enjoyed the Casino, the great restuarants, the Food Court for breakfast and ice cream at night. Too bad there isn't an ... indoor pool for the cold months. Service was immediate and helpful - once I waited 15 minutes for the front desk to answer the phone! Very helpful and polite staff, quick valet car return. My room was large and clean, TV was good (not enough stations for my taste), bedding was very comfortable, maid service very good. Extremely important to me -- my room was easy to get to - elevators are near the front desk and my room was close to the elevator. This is critical in an enormous facility like MGM Grand. Overall I enjoyed my stay much more than at other Vegas hotels I have tried.
Traveler type: Single
Ask for a room near the elevators when you check in. This is an enormous hotel and you will spend way too much time and effort getting around if you get one of the rooms farthest from the elevators.

The MGM is getting tired and worn. Check-in was not very efficient and my room was not clean. Hair that is not mine in the ... sink, bathroom and on the bed spread are indicators that basic issues are not being addressed by the house keeping staff. The hotel wants you in the casino not in your room. there was no coffee maker or premium TV channel selection. they also charge for internet which as a business traveler always irks me. this is not a hotel in which to do business and i would not stay here again.

We thought we'd get by with a simple room so long as the bed was comfy (after all 1 nite stay!). They offered a $175 upgrade ... for a PH Suite and was it SWEET. The room was beatifully appointed and had that just washed clean scent throughout. The view was pretty awesome and it was well worth the extra cash. Next time, I'll be sure to ask for a similar steal!!!

Luxury at an unbelievable price
Angel Dec 11, 2009
This hotel was enormous and luxurious with every facility you could ask for, including a daily lion display that added a ... touch of uniqueness. Note that the lions are treated humanely and are only kept on display for short periods as they are rotated. Of course, being in Vegas, there was a plethora of gaming machines etc for the avid gambler. However, the hotel is also suitable for those of us who are not interested in gambling, or for families with children.

Great hotel! I loved the non-smoking casino tables, however I wish there were more non-smoker areas. The hotel room was ... clean, spacious and I LOVED how comfortable the bed was... pillow top mattress with down pillows.. the best! The buffet was overpriced for the food that I ate, however I loved the entrees at the studio cafe and the wok. Everything we needed was within the hotel including car rental company and monorail transit station. Overall the hotel fit my needs and I really enjoyed my stay!.. Marathon Anna Dec 8, 2009
The hotel was great. The staff were very helpful. I arrived before my room was ready and they were quick to help me with my ... luggage and were able to send my luggage to me when the room was ready. My only complaint about the hotel is that there was a $15/day fee for internet access. Maybe that is true of most hotels in Las Vegas, but internet access is free in a lot of other places and should be here as well (given the price of the room). It would have been nice to have an in room coffee maker for a simple cup of coffee in the morning. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay.
