Great Hotel!
Weekend Getaway Girl Dec 8, 2009
Great hotel! I loved the non-smoking casino tables, however I wish there were more non-smoker areas. The hotel room was ... clean, spacious and I LOVED how comfortable the bed was... pillow top mattress with down pillows.. the best! The buffet was overpriced for the food that I ate, however I loved the entrees at the studio cafe and the wok. Everything we needed was within the hotel including car rental company and monorail transit station. Overall the hotel fit my needs and I really enjoyed my stay!.. Also... very friendly front desk and housekeeping!

The hotel was great. The staff were very helpful. I arrived before my room was ready and they were quick to help me with my ... luggage and were able to send my luggage to me when the room was ready. My only complaint about the hotel is that there was a $15/day fee for internet access. Maybe that is true of most hotels in Las Vegas, but internet access is free in a lot of other places and should be here as well (given the price of the room). It would have been nice to have an in room coffee maker for a simple cup of coffee in the morning. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay.

Team Challenge Runner Las Vegas Half Mar Dec 8, 2009
We enjoyed the MGM. It was a nice hotel. We could hear our neighbors and people in the hall. So it was a little noisy at ... times. The bed was confortable. Many food options, but we preferred to go over to New York NY and Hard Rock Casino to eat. Very large hotel, taking several minutes to walk through. Show that is located int he middle of the main casino was less than expected. If you can stick to KA. The other shows were not that great. Thankfully we got our tickets at the Half Price Ticket counter near the M%M store.

"Unbelievable hotel, disappointing room"
Vegas regular Dec 7, 2009
The hotel was, obviously, unbelievably exciting and a great place to spend time. You could really spend all your time in ... Vegas at the MGM Grand and leave completely satisfied. The rooms were small, and I was disappointed that there wasn't a mini-fridge in my room. But the hotel staff was very accommodating and they made us feel right at home. However, I would recommended staying away from the casino tables. The dealers were stiff, the tables were cold, and the atmosphere seemed dull and drab.

We gambled, went to shows and shopped. The stay at this hotel was very enjoyable except there was an awful smokey smell ... throughout the whole casino. The MGM Grand is a very good hotel. The location is great, you can walk everywhere. We watched two shows in this hotel: David ... Copperfield and Ka by Cirque du Soleil. Both shows were amazing. Went for NFR and a convention. The hotel was nice but smoke everywhere, even in our "NONSMOKING" room, you could smell ... cigarettes off and on throughout the nite. The pools were closed and to use the whirlpools or steam they wanted $15 pp. After the $4 bottle of water I'd had it. Won't stay there again.

Somewhat disappointing stay...
Rebekah H Dec 5, 2009
The hotel itself was beautiful, however, the customer service all around was just terrible (except for the Concierge Desk). ... Check-in and check-out was terrible: it took WAY too long on both ends, and we're patient people. About 30 mins in and out, with short lines. We bought a package deal which included 3 paid nights and one night free in the Grand Tower if we paid in advance, which we did, and the hotel substituted our free night for a much cheaper room in the West Wing because they said they were overbooked. That should NEVER happen to customers who pay, in full, in advance. The managers claimed they couldn't do anything to compensate us so we just had to keep the cheaper room for the night, with no amends whatsoever. The front desk agents weren't that friendly and most of them must have been new, as it took them all way to long do complete simple tasks, causing the long long wait times I mentioned earlier. Parking was complimentary, but very far away from the hotel lobby. The in house restaurants were nice however, and there were a few in very close proximity outside, so dining wasn't a problem. And the original rooms we paid for were pretty nice - they were decently clean (there were a few small stains on the white bedding) but the shower heads could have been better. Overall are stay could have been much worse, but it definitely could have been much better as well. I'm not sure if we'll ever stay at the MGM Grand again. I would recommend the hotel to friends because of the dining, beauty, and proximity to entertainment, but I would give them all the warnings I mentioned here, in hopes that they'd have a better experience than we did, or at least be prepared for all the bad ones.

Experience at MGM was amazing. Huge Casino and other facilities inside the hotel. Monorail starts just from the hotel. Very ... nice location. I have noticed huge smoke in other casinos, but the ventilation system at MGM is really great. Only hitch was free wifi, but none of the other hotels offer it either for free. Iphone helped a lot. If they had a Tix4tonight at their premises it would have been great. Smooth check in and check out. Friendly staff. Very clean rooms and clean bathrooms. Would definitely stay at MGM again in the future.

Vivian Dec 2, 2009
We got in about 9:30. We were supposed to have a room in the Grand Tower. They said they didn't have a room there with a ... king non smoking, so put us in the "west tower" which is in the oldest, dirtiest part of the hotel, and also requires you go thru the casino with all the smoking. The rooms are smaller, and older. Not bad, but poorly designed. The wing is awful; dark, seedy and a long walk down the hall and back up if your room is near the end where you entered. We got moved back to the grand tower the next day. When you check in, they try to sell you on a "package" where you can get "upgrades" to some extras if you promise to spend $500 in all their hotels. They push it pretty hard. It wasn't worth it to us. Otherwise, you have to pay for EVERYTHING. And, most of their stuff is closed most of the time anyway. The pools and spas are only open from like 10-7??? and to use the "fitness spa"? is $25. You wouldn't get treated like that at a Marriott or Sheraton where we stay all the time. We went to a number of the hotels to see shows while we were there. Most were much easier to navigate than this one. And, the smoking seemed to be worse at this hotel than the others. Although, in our non smoking room it was fine, I have to wash everything we brought home, because it positively REEKS of smoke just from walking thru their casino to get everywhere.
Traveler type: Couples
I saw a lot of half price ticket outlets. I think that you can get a lot of shows at discount. We bought before we went and paid full price.

Doesn't matter how good is the hotel, when you visit a city you want to walk around. Early in the morning we had a coffee or breakfast at cafe studio, then head out to see the city (MGM is close to everything). Also MGM offer the monorail station.
