Come alive at hotter nightclubs like Studio 54 - the legendary '70s nightclub in a modern interpretation, blending high-energy music with a wilder scene than the '70s ever had - and hipper bars like the new ultra lounge, Tabu, where you're invited but your inhibitions aren't. Internationally renowned DJs conjure a cool and casual vibe and stunning models/servers tempt with nouveau classic cocktails. Are you ready for a nightspot that's too hot to touch? Dining

Craftsteak

Celebrity chef Tom Colicchio insists on the finest ingredients from small family farms and other specialized venues. A James Beard award-winning chef, Colicchio is emphatic when it comes to creating menu items that appeal to all lovers of fine food. Using the purest ingredients and a philosophy that simpler is better, he makes every dish burst forth with flavor. While this famous steakhouse offers mainstays like Kobe Beef, it also tempts your taste buds with veal, salmon and lobster dishes.

Nobhill

Inspired by San Francisco neighborhood eateries, chef Michael Mina has organic produce and poultry flown in direct from San Francisco to capture the taste and feel of the Bay Area. The James Beard award-winning chef's signature dishes like North Beach Cioppino and Lobster Pot Pie pay tribute to the City by the Bay, while the cozy bar and lounge make guests feel right at home.

Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill

One of the most recognizable names in food today - Wolfgang Puck - reinvents American bar and grill food. Here, you'll find a unique interpretation of California cuisine prepared with a new spirit. The combination is best described as beachfront bistro meets classic bar and grill. And the taste is, well, let's just say you have to try this one. After all, a Wolfgang Puck restaurant is more than a restaurant, it's an experience.

Grand Wok and Sushi Bar

A culinary cross-section of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean and Vietnamese, the Grand Wok satisfies your craving for Asian cuisine. So, where to start? How about the sushi bar? With so many choices, you'll find something new every time you visit. The restaurant's bamboo and black granite accents make the perfect backdrop for the cascading waterfall and polished stone pond.

Fiamma Trattoria

Straight from SoHo, where it earned the coveted Three Star designation from The New York Times, Fiamma presents traditional Italian cuisine in sleek, sexy surroundings. Enjoy cocktails fireside before or after dinner. But it is the food that is the star.

Emeril's

You've seen his TV show, you've read his cookbooks, now sample the signature dishes of one of America's most popular chefs - Emeril Lagasse. The celebrity chef gives Las Vegas fine dining his signature "bam!" With scallops from Maine, pike from the Midwest, and chicken from Alabama, Emeril's serves a fresh and distinctive blend of Creole/Cajun specialties. Add to that a wine list that received Wine Spectator's 1999 "Best of Award of Excellence," and funky New Orleans architecture, and you'll feel closer to Bourbon Street than the Vegas Strip.

L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon

Known around the world as "Chef of the Century," legendary French Chef Joel Robuchon has come straight out of retirement to open his very first and only fine dining French restaurant in the United States. The French cuisine of the "Chef of the Century" is reason enough to visit L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. Add the unique counter service where your dinner is prepared right before your eyes, and you have a combination that is unlike any other. Joel Robuchon caters to a sophisticated palate that features a menu of his finer specialties that redefines Las Vegas fine dining at its best. Enjoy tapas, a tasting menu, and wines from around the world in a friendly and interactive atmosphere.

Shibuya

Expansive and spectacular, it's the ultimate destination for Japanese cuisine. Direct from the stylish Tokyo district that bears its name, Shibuya features freshly prepared ingredients, stellar sushi, and the widest sake selection this side of the Pacific. All served in an airy and ambient setting. Experience the sleek urban elegance of Shibuya. And transport yourself to the Far-from-ordinary East.

Casual Dining

Part adventure, part restaurant and wholly entertaining for the whole family, the Rainforest Cafe recreates a tropical rainforest with waterfalls, lush vegetation, and indigenous creatures. You enter through a 10,000-gallon double archway aquarium. Inside the family-style restaurant, the food continues the rainforest theme with the Primal Steak, Rumble in the Jungle Turkey Pita, and other exotic fare. Other more casual dining includes the wide-ranging menu of the Art Deco-era Studio Cafe, the fine sandwiches at 'wichcraft and Stage Deli, the poolside Cabana Grill and the famed MGM Grand Buffet.

Pearl

Cuisine with an essence of the Canton and Shanghai provinces, prepared utilizing the four Chinese cooking methods: steamed, braised, baked and fried. Although live seafood is the specialty, chef Kai-Wa Yau prefers a menu that is constantly changing to take advantage of seasonal offerings. The masterful cooking is paired with a serene and contemporary Chinese atmosphere.

Diego

Traditional recipes hand-picked from the Mexican countryside create the foundation for Diego's bold menu. Then he makes them completely his own. Using honest ingredients and modern techniques, he enlivens authentic Mexican dishes with new twists to create new favorites like carne asada or cochinita pibil. You'll find the bright and vibrant restaurant just as exciting as the food.

Seablue

Featured on the cover of Wine Spectator, SEABLUE is the creation of James Beard award-winning chef Michael Mina. Inspired by the bustling ports and marketplaces of the Mediterranean, the innovative restaurant's two lively open kitchens prepare seafood over a wood-fired grill. The ocean theme is carried throughout the space with walls of stone and water.

Even though the casino is open all night long, the hotel rooms are very quiet. Room service doesn't come till late in the ... day, probably because people stay out so late at night. Excellent location. We were also able to get a 25% discount off of "O" tickets at the Bellagio because they are part of the same hotel family.

The MGM Grand is a very good hotel. The location is great, you can walk everywhere. We watched two shows in this hotel: David ... Copperfield and Ka by Cirque du Soleil. Both shows were amazing. If you go to Las Vegas you have to see these shows. Besides that the hotel provides everything, there is a nice pool area, the lion habitat, restaurants etc. I would definitely go there again.

MGM Scam, I mean Grand

broke cowboy Dec 5, 2009

Went for NFR and a convention. The hotel was nice but smoke everywhere, even in our "NONSMOKING" room, you could smell ... cigarettes off and on throughout the nite. The pools were closed and to use the whirlpools or steam they wanted $15 pp. After the $4 bottle of water I'd had it. Won't stay there again.

Somewhat disappointing stay...

Rebekah H Dec 5, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The hotel itself was beautiful, however, the customer service all around was just terrible (except for the Concierge Desk). ... Check-in and check-out was terrible: it took WAY too long on both ends, and we're patient people. About 30 mins in and out, with short lines. We bought a package deal which included 3 paid nights and one night free in the Grand Tower if we paid in advance, which we did, and the hotel substituted our free night for a much cheaper room in the West Wing because they said they were overbooked. That should NEVER happen to customers who pay, in full, in advance. The managers claimed they couldn't do anything to compensate us so we just had to keep the cheaper room for the night, with no amends whatsoever. The front desk agents weren't that friendly and most of them must have been new, as it took them all way to long do complete simple tasks, causing the long long wait times I mentioned earlier. Parking was complimentary, but very far away from the hotel lobby. The in house restaurants were nice however, and there were a few in very close proximity outside, so dining wasn't a problem. And the original rooms we paid for were pretty nice - they were decently clean (there were a few small stains on the white bedding) but the shower heads could have been better. Overall are stay could have been much worse, but it definitely could have been much better as well. I'm not sure if we'll ever stay at the MGM Grand again. I would recommend the hotel to friends because of the dining, beauty, and proximity to entertainment, but I would give them all the warnings I mentioned here, in hopes that they'd have a better experience than we did, or at least be prepared for all the bad ones.

Experience at MGM was amazing. Huge Casino and other facilities inside the hotel. Monorail starts just from the hotel. Very ... nice location. I have noticed huge smoke in other casinos, but the ventilation system at MGM is really great. Only hitch was free wifi, but none of the other hotels offer it either for free. Iphone helped a lot. If they had a Tix4tonight at their premises it would have been great. Smooth check in and check out. Friendly staff. Very clean rooms and clean bathrooms. Would definitely stay at MGM again in the future.

We found this amazing deal on [...], I was skeptical, looking at the price tag, but when i entered my room i was amazed. The ... staff were very friendly, concierges are a little stiff and at times too robotic, but they are concierge. I loved the fact every room service staff and other hotel staff greeted everyone and were very pleasant, rooms were very clean. I have stayed at other hotels paid the same amount and gotten smelly rooms. From now on i think I am definitely going to stick with MGM. Also being a hotel guest we got 40% off on Cirque du Soleil KA show... amazing show!Paid $99 each for the best seats, worth every penny

cirque du soleil KA show is the one i recommend, considering it's in the hotel, you can grab a nice size drink and enjoy the show, great family show...Don't fall for the all day buffet(Excalibur), like i did not worth.. unless you like to pig out on unhealthy food without any taste.. This was my first time on Vegas buffet after 6 years not impressed. Maybe next time i should stick with MGM or Bellagio, theirs looked more appetizing...

Quick tip

Its ok, but we've had much better

Vivian Dec 2, 2009

We got in about 9:30. We were supposed to have a room in the Grand Tower. They said they didn't have a room there with a ... king non smoking, so put us in the "west tower" which is in the oldest, dirtiest part of the hotel, and also requires you go thru the casino with all the smoking. The rooms are smaller, and older. Not bad, but poorly designed. The wing is awful; dark, seedy and a long walk down the hall and back up if your room is near the end where you entered. We got moved back to the grand tower the next day. When you check in, they try to sell you on a "package" where you can get "upgrades" to some extras if you promise to spend $500 in all their hotels. They push it pretty hard. It wasn't worth it to us. Otherwise, you have to pay for EVERYTHING. And, most of their stuff is closed most of the time anyway. The pools and spas are only open from like 10-7??? and to use the "fitness spa"? is $25. You wouldn't get treated like that at a Marriott or Sheraton where we stay all the time. We went to a number of the hotels to see shows while we were there. Most were much easier to navigate than this one. And, the smoking seemed to be worse at this hotel than the others. Although, in our non smoking room it was fine, I have to wash everything we brought home, because it positively REEKS of smoke just from walking thru their casino to get everywhere.

I saw a lot of half price ticket outlets. I think that you can get a lot of shows at discount. We bought before we went and paid full price.

Enjoyable Vacations

This is one of the best hotel we've staying at. Location is great (easy to get in from airport and next to New York Hotel, ... Hard Rock Cafe, Montecarlo, etc.) We used the monorail for a full trip thru Las Vegas and rented a car to visit the old Vegas side(about 7 miles to the north), Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. Restaurants, Shows and Night Life diversity (piano bar, latin music, and regular pubs) are great. Casino is good but we felt better at Paris Paris as the decoration and life music at the casino bar. Staff are very friendly and room service was great.

Entertainment tip, Short Walk

Doesn't matter how good is the hotel, when you visit a city you want to walk around. Early in the morning we had a coffee or breakfast at cafe studio, then head out to see the city (MGM is close to everything). Also MGM offer the monorail station. We visit every hotel, mall, stores and took pictures of the city. The good thing is that you can spend the time out of the hotel for tourism, dining, shopping and then back to the hotel to attend a show, night life or have a drink at the casino.

MGM Grand Hotel Expirience

Disgruntled MSM Client Dec 1, 2009

This was so disappointing. When we arrived at the hotel, they told us all the rooms in the hotel wing we paid for were ... booked up. Instead they were putting us in the "upgraded" west wing. The rooms were about half the size, poorly lit, unclean and unkept, and did not even have bathtubs. [...] I can't believe that hotels can get away with this kind of thing. We will be writing to management, [...] and the better business bureau.

The Buffet in the hotel was great!

Entertainment tip, Short Drive

If you're looking for really cheap Black Jack, go to the Sahara on the other end of the strip. They have $1 Black Jack and friendly dealers 24/7.

Hit up the pizza joint in newyork newyork just accross from the MGM cheapish grub!

Money savers tip, Short Walk

For waters, beers, etc use the ABC store one block north on the strip. MGM is not worth the costs of the extras even if the room rate is great.

Tix4tonight offers great discounted prices for shows. It is located at about 6 places on the strip. Closer one to MGM was near Hawaian market and showcase mall. Just ask people, everybody knows about it.

Entertainment tip, In Hotel

cirque du soleil KA show is the one i recommend, considering it's in the hotel, you can grab a nice size drink and enjoy the show, great family show...Don't fall for the all day buffet(Excalibur), like i did not worth.. unless you like to pig out on unhealthy food without any taste.. This was my first time on Vegas buffet after 6 years not impressed. Maybe next time i should stick with MGM or Bellagio, theirs looked more appetizing...
