A fine place to operate out of....

We were in the area for a wedding. The hotel was fine for this type of trip. We were mostly on the go! The staff was helpful ... in helping us get around: maps, cabs, etc.

Walking to the wharf or town is out of the question...too far. I was sorry about this distance.

We stayed one night for our one year wedding anniversary and it was a good hotel for the money. Since location is everything ... it is considerably cheaper than hotels situated in downtown SB. You get what you pay for plus more because the area uptown is actually nicer than downtown. As long as you don't mind driving a bit to get to downtown (heart of State St) then I would highly recommend the Peppertree Inn.

You can do better
whatever Sep 7, 2009
This was OK, but it's a bit of a drive from Downtown, not walkable at all, maybe you could bike it. It's a little older but ... everything was kept up and modern furnishings. Rooms are not big, but that's normal for S.B. It's just not worth the price for a place so far from the action. There was a window AC that sounds like an engine, it was a little hot and muggy, but i didn't run the AC b/c of the noise and my two year old trying to sleep. I was a little hot and wish they had more modern efficiencies. There is a restaurant there but who want's to try it when there is so much good food in S.B.

We enjoy walking and shopping in downtown SB, walking on the pier. Our kids loved the Zoo. There is so much to do but so ... little time!

Wonderful wedding group and family stay
Kiki-Rock&Roll grandma Jul 12, 2009
This was a very relaxing experience for my family at the Peppertree Inn in Santa Barbara. We relaxed in the pool before a ... wedding and had breakfast at the restaurant with a friendly staff. This was a better family oriented accommodating hotel than previous trips.

Best Western Santa Barbara
Ed Jun 9, 2009
We had a room on the first floor that opened into a common area with the pool and jacuzzi. The flowers and trees along with ... the individual tables and chairs made it an attractive, welcoming area to relax in. The staff at check-in was great and bent over backwards to make sure we were satisfied with everkything about the hotel

Very nice stay
Dr. Deb Jun 7, 2009
Although we expected a late check in we actually arrived early and were fortunate in being allowed to check in before 3pm, ... which was very nice and assisted our scheduling. Front desk folks very nice, totally accomodating. Room was cozy and had all amenities we were led to expect. LOTS of pillows, comfy beds. I grew up in SB and the Pepper Tree is a great place to stay whenever I'm back in town for family events or reunions.

It was a little more expensive than i thought it would be. but perhaps it was because it was during memorial day weekend and ... everything was more expensive and required a two night stay minimum. i thought it was a little more closer to downtown when i booked. You definitely need a car if you wish to go downtown from this hotel.

The Pepper Tree In was very welcoming from the start. The front desk staff were very accomidating and helpful. The bus stop ... was across the street and a 1/2 a block away. Very close. Although are visit was short we would recommend this property to others. We did not go to the mall however it was right across the street.

Good Hotel
Terri Jul 24, 2008
We stayed here to be close to the Sansum clinic. When the Hotel found that out they gave us an extra $4.00 off per day which ... was nice. The room was very comfortable and clean. There was a microwave and frig which was great! The bed & pillows were very comfortable. Bathroom had tile on the walls and floor and was kept very clean by the Hotel. We enjoyed the friendly staff and our room was pool side. Only bad thing was no elevator and there were 3 floors. With quite a bit of luggage it is kind of a pain. The other thing is the restaurant next to it was awful...! Don't waste your $$ The service and waiters were nice but we had hair in the food. Fried into the French fries on two separate plates yuck So eat somewhere else. We went to the movie theatre a few miles away and it was a beautiful building.
