Great value, location and clean
Middle class couple Nov 19, 2009
Great location- minutes from Universal, easy access to Hollywood and other popular tourist favorites. The staff was very ... helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a clean hotel at a reasonable price the Safari is a great option. Parking is free. The amenities are not extravigant but has what you need. If you are looking for your hotel to be part of The entertainment it may not be for you. However if you are looking for a clean reasonibly priced place to stay while you explore LA the Safari Inn would defnately have to be on the list.

The rooms aren't much to look at, but the bed is one of the most comfortable I've slept in and the room was spotless. It ... didn't apply on this trip, but a big thumbs up for also being pet friendly. I'll stay here again. Great value!

I like how the staff worked so hard to get us discounted cupons for Universal Studios(which save us $70) Everything you need ... while traveling with your family is in a one mile ratio. There is a great Phillily cheese steak house about three blocks down from the hotel. Although we didn't have enough time to swim in the pool, it did look very nice. Parking was not a problem. You get plenty for your money. We plan to visit next year.

Good deal
Laura Nov 3, 2009
Booked hotel because of location near NBC studios - about a 15-20 minute walk. Warner Bros also down the block. Convenient to ... major highways and other attractions. Was told by desk clerk that I got a very good deal, almost half usual rate. Free parking and never had a problem finding a space. No on site restaurant but sister hotel is across street with small restaurant and bar. Quiet neighborhood.

Stayed here because it was close to the hospital, which unforunately we had to visit a family member. It was very noisy at ... night due to the traffic on Olive which is a busy street. The toilet seats need to be replaced were worn out. Don't think we will stay at this hotel again.

I have stayed at this hotel before. The fact that it is centrally located means a lot to me. It is also very quiet with few ... distractions. The only thing I would like to see at this location is an elevator. I would like to see some new softer towels. I always recommend this hotel to my business friends.

Stayed here for 2 days. Wanted to see the TV and Movie Studios, Great location for such. Only a 20 minute walk to Warner Bros ... / NBC studios. Only about 3 minutes by car. The room was basic but quiet, comfortable beds, clean rooms. The staff was friendly, didn't offer much advise for the area, but answered my questions. Good stay over all.

Metsfan Oct 18, 2009
Room was a good size and clean. Staff was very pleasant. Location is good, a short distance from Universal Studios. Plenty of ... decent places to eat nearby. Pool was small and free breakfast was nothing to write home about, they didn't even have real milk for the coffee, just the powder stuff. But my main concern was cleanliness, and I have no complaints about that.

Very close drive to Universal studios. Free breakfast is super small, mini doughnuts and two pitchers of orange juice. ... More like a snack until you can find a breakfast place. Quiet hotel with a CVS pharmacy on block. Felt very safe and hotel room was clean. Monk recently filmed here along with others. Pool in the shape of the Safari sign. Average hotel.

Good Hotel
Themeparkenthusiest Oct 12, 2009
We booked this hotel last minute because of going to Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights. We arrived hotel, which was ... pretty easy to find, and thought it was a little sketchy looking on the outside. The receptionist didnt seem to be that thrilled and didnt smile (both when we checked in and checked out). The rooms were super roomy, and very well done. Alot of channels to chose from while other hotels dont give you the choice. The biggest thing I found to be bad, was not enough parking. If the parking lot was full, you had to either park on the main street or at the hotel right by them. Overall, it was a good stay with the beds being comfy and easy to fall asleep too after a long night of walking.

An OK Place To Stay
Archer47 Sep 29, 2009
Was in California for my son's wedding. Wedding was great, the room was ok. Rather small for 3 adults. The Breakfast Bar ... consisted of some toast, small bagels, juice and coffee. The staff was very nice and the rooms clean. Parking lot was small and one evening we had no place to park. A good place to stay for the money, but I would not rate it four stars, 3.5 at the most.

The Safari Inn was perfect for us! It was very reasonably priced, very clean, lovely pool and the breakfast was ok. (Much ... better than I thought after reading some reviews!) Great location for all the sights, we hired a car but there was a bus stop right outside. Don't go th the Talleyrand opposite for a meal, it was awful, walk a little further in the opposite direction to the Acapulco Mexican restaurant, it was delicious. By the way Olive's Bistro next door was very good too!!!
