Downtow Atlanta
GA Tech Mom Aug 17, 2009
The hotel was nice. Restaurant was a bit above average for breakfast fare. However, they really need to do something about ... those sliding glass doors in the room. Talk about zero noise resistance! This hotel is on 75/85 through Atlanta, and although I knew that, I expected a quieter patio door. I've stayed in other hotels in busy car traffic locations, and had other glass doors that did a much better job at noise reduction.

Stayed at hotel for business trip held in one of the conference rooms. It was nice and not to cold like a lot of places are. ... The staff was friendly and professional. The only bad thing was the fitness center was a little small and got croweded and the pool closed too early, and they have no hot tube.

Nice Valentine's Day
Not a happy camper Mar 3, 2009
The hotel was very nice with the exception the rooms weren't ready. There was a cheerleading convention in town and so they ... had a lot of people staying and checking out, but thought being Valentine's day night, they would have more housekeeping to expedite the room availability. After the first 90 minute wait (until 5:30) the room still wasn't ready, so we went to the bar, which was the saving point. Great waitress and food. While talking with her, she mentioned there were specials in the main restaurant that night, which ended up making the night perfect. There must be a major fire station right there because we heard sirens all night, which were disturbing.

Great location - valet issues
Belinda Oct 25, 2008
The location is great - especially for Ga. Tech fans - a block from the Varsity and just across the bridge from football ... stadium. Yes, I was there over homecoming weekend, but I'm not a Tech grad & wasn't there for anything Tech related! But even before the crowds showed up for homecoming, the valet service had serious problems getting cars in a timely manner. I first waited 15 minutes (no one else was even waiting for a car), the next day it was close to half an hour. They said they lost my keys - something about the keys getting wet in the rain & all the tags came off. Made me wonder where my keys were being stored! Hotel is very close to major hospital, so sirens are quite common. But hotel even provides earplugs on the nightstand.

Great location to use for public transportation
Geri Jul 13, 2008
We enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance, the only complaint we had was the hotel is right near a hospital and freeway so all ... night long you heard ambulances with sirens blaring rushing to the hospital. We were on the 22nd floor so the highway noise was also loud. The room was very clean and the staff was helpful. Very convenient to public transporation and not far from downtown.

Buy a Marta the public train system ticket for the amount of days you will be visiting Atlanta otherwise you are constantly paying. Also the train takes you right to the airport, very convenient.

The staff at the check-in desk were extremely friendly. They made dinner reservations for us for the time and place we ... requested. We were given a sheet with restauarants within walking distance. The rooms were very large and clean. The view looked out over the skyline of the city. We used cabs and the hotel staff were very helpful getting one each time we needed to go out.
