Morgans Hotel
The Juggler of Onions and Potatoes Sep 3, 2009
I spent a couple of nights here when I visited for a weekend in New York, where I've stayed at a number of hotels. I was ... certainly happy at Morgans. Its location is very convenient as I was arriving and departing through Penn Station. Sleek and stylish but also tucked away, so it's not over the top. Friendly staff who seem to truly enjoy their work rather than putting on airs. Not too much to complain about. It didn't bother me, but my room was rather dark. I guess I don't mind living in the shadows, but if you have a psychological need for sunshine and a great view, this might not be your thing. I also believe I was double-charged for the mini-bar bill, but I presume this was an innocent error and I didn't raise the issue as I didn't notice until later.

This isn't Manhattan's nightlife central, but I've found it's a convenient location if you're going to be spending time both downtown and uptown.

Great value for 2

1st time in NYC, it was great. We'd heard to expect tiny rooms, but were surprised by the size of the space we got at ... Morgans: bigger than expected, certainly enough room for a couple. The hotel had a hip New Yorker design. Didn't spend tons of time in the room, but it was a super comfy oasis after long days of exploring the city. Staff was super helpful & nice. Rooms were pretty clean. Location of the hotel was decent, short walking distance to 2 subway stations (one being Grand Central). I'd definitely recommend, it was a good deal in NYC.

Get the MetroCard & use the buses as well as the subway. Buses will save you tons of walking, & you get to see the city while you ride (as opposed to underground tunnel views). But regardless, BRING WALKING SHOES!!!

Fantastic Hotel!
Bob Jul 29, 2009
My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and stayed at the Morgans for 6 nights. It was very nice, beyond our ... expectations, and the staff could not have been any nicer or more helpful. The location is perfect. Easy walking to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, St. Patricks, and many upscale stores, restaurants and bars. We felt extremely safe walking around the area of the hotel, and all of Manhattan for that matter. The continental breakfast was great, an added bonus. This hotel is very quiet and the rooms were really nice. Everything has been upgraded from the linens to the furniture. The room was spotless and extremely clean. We absolutely would stay there again. I don't think you could do any better on the location. [...] and her staff do a first class job.

Great Gem in the Centre of the World

Great location one block off 5th Avenue's tony boutiques. Close to all subway lines 4 blocks away from Grand Central. ... Fantastic staff, great decoration. The only thing was the TV was snowy when I stayed there. But who watches TV on a trip to NYC. Love the iPod setup. All in all a great hotel.

Hotel Staff was a sweet!!!! No words to tell TLC with this Team. I came out of a shoulder surgery in a nearby Hospital and ... did my recovery at this hotel since I am out of town. This team is by far second to none!!!! may many other hotels be able to claim such a tem work and TLC towards its guests!!!

Needs update
Peter Dec 5, 2007
This is a hotel which has seen its heyday 15 years ago. Service, staff, cleanliness is still fine but for the cost of the ... room I expected much more. The hotel looks gloomy and tired, in great need of a facelift. The restuarant for breakfast was very nice.
