PRIVATE SECLUDED BEACHFRONT
T Oct 19, 2009
Hotel was close to shopping and attractions (Captain Nemo Pirate ship great time for adults and kids) Housekeeping staff ... very friendly and did a great job in cleaning up the sand and cannot forget the front desk always very willing to answer questions and courteous. Overall I would rate the hotel a 9 because of the noise due to road construction. My sister and brother inlaw also traveled with us and we have decided to make Flordia a yearly travel destination and would pick the Best Western due mostly to the location and staff. I must add that I think the resort fee should be included in the price package. I also will be choosing a beachfront room the next time so I am sure my experience will be a 10. Thank You

we liked the privat beach canvas chairs available friendly staff pool 5 anf 8 feet deep, not so good for little kids, but our ... daughter still loved it to play at the stairs we would avoid it the next time for weekends/holidays because there where lots off boats a few yards from the beach, with drinking people and loud music. the hotels can´t do anything-state water...luckily we needed to deal with the inconvenience for one day(the day before labor day)

I though the hotel staff were very friendly. The drinks were great. There was a lot of street construction going on out ... front but the moment you walked into the lobby and stepped out on the patio it was like you were in another world. It felt like a real vacation. Fantastic view, beautiful beach.

it was terrible, the hotel had the wrong date for our check in date, the air condition broke and flooded part of the room, ... the phone in the room did not work. The hallway smelt like that old flood smell. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone and probably will not go to another Best Western. Maybe a name change would be appropriate

The hotel had a decent look from the outside, while checking in we had to wait an hour after check-in time in the rain. The ... gentleman at the front desk was not very nice about the situation. Pretty rude! The hallways had a musty smell the entire stay. The balcony was always wet for some reason. The bar was wayyyyyyy too expensive. The aircondition was either on freeze or burn, no in between. It was not worth the money unless you want to be directly on the beach.

lillypad Aug 10, 2009
We booked a "standard room". From all the pictures I looked at, I assumed it had a balcony. When we arrived, we rode the ... world's scariest elevator to our "ocean view" room. This room was about the size of a closet, with 7 foot ceilings. Since this was our anniversary, I went back to the frontdesk asking to change. They only had a handicapped room availible and it faced the city. We took that room. When we got inside it was infact a decent sized hotel room. BUT the room must not have been used because it reaked of mold/mildew. We turned on the AC and left to go down to the beach... When we returned the room still had not cooled down (4 hours!!).. We got dressed and went to dinner... This was by far the hardest bed I've ever slept on. All hours of the night we could hear people on either side of us. The next morning we went to the public beach, and when we came back- we decided it was better to forfeit the money for the room- and just go back home to Orlando. So we left. We will not return again. Hotel is in need of some serious upgrades.

The Hotel is in the inlet, not right on Clearwater Beach. I liked that. Very private location, with their own private ... beach. The water there is not rough so if you have little kids they won't get knocked over. Clearwater Beach is a short walk. Nice shopping right across the street and there are several places to eat within walking distance too. We really enjoyed our stay there and would certainly stay there again.

It is very conveniently located. The rooms were clean, but the hallways and the lobby were not really. Half the staff was ... frankly rude while the other half was very helpful. We were advised not to eat at the restaurant by their own staff. On average I think it serves its purpose: good for sleeping, there's so much to see and enjoy around.

LaShelle's Road Trip Jul 28, 2009
This hotel is in a great location within walking distance to Pier 60 and restaurants. It was small but very nice and the ... staff was always nice and polite. Me and my granddaughter would late night swim with no problem at all. They played 80's rock music which was good listening music that you could hear from your balcony, at the pool and on the beach. I also enjoyed waking up in the mornings and having coffee on the balcony while watching the boats and dolphins in the water. It was very peaceful!!

We loved the private beach area. However, the pool was heated and uncomfortable for 90 degree weather. The view from the ... room was lovely.....hallways are musty smelling and dingy. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I would stay there again if the price was right. The last day a couple of boats blocked the swimming area playing loud music and disrupting the quiet atmosphere that we had enjoyed. We took advantage of the fridge and microwave to eat breakfast and lunch in and save money.

Wiski Joe's, a very nice restaurant on build on the sea, with a nice view, you could see large fish swiming underneath. At $14 (average ) per dish, about $18-24 per steak, it was worth every penny.

There are four Frency's locations on the beach which make for excellent and cheap dining. The food in fresh and the environment is fun and casual. Shephard's has a fresh lunch buffet, but avoid their dinner buffet as the prices are double and the food is not as fresh. There is a fantastic family owned Italian restaurant just over the bridge on Gulf BLVD by the Marriott Hotel called Little Italian Pizza. This was a pleasant discovery we made where we ate some amazing pizza and chatted with a friendly staff. There is a great ocean view in the back. If you are able to afford the time and prices, then I would recommend the Starlite Majesty Cruise. The food is wonderful and live music (dance floor setup). The prices are about $100 after food and two drinks per person. The cruise lasts 3 hours and they give you a tour around Clearwater. It is worth the money for a romantic dinner or just a celebration.
