The clerk was kind enough to allow us to check in early. The rooms were your average motel; they did indeed have large tvs ... and a great view of the bay and the AC skyline. The water had an odd smell to it, and there was a crack in the toilet seat that pinched you if you forgot about it, and the drains were a bit slow, but otherwise everything worked as it should. The staff is what made it really stand out; they were very accommodating and helpful. A fancy motel it isn't, but if you're looking for a place to sleep while you're out and about in the area, this is a great place, and the price was very reasonable. The location was convenient to the AC shore and Rennaissance point. For a short trip, we would stay again.

The staff was friendly when I checked in, but that was the end of good things to say. I was traveling alone, so I don't mind ... staying in a bit of a dive when I'm not with my family, but this was too much. I'm used to cigarette burns in the sheets and thin towels (of which this hotel had both). The room was so much worse though. The room smelled, there was a flying ant infestation in the bathroom, and when I filled the "hot tub" I found a dead centipede floating in the water. They also never made up the room despite my being there for two days and they never brought fresh towels. If you're looking for the cheapest room possible and you REALLY don't care about the quality of the room then maybe you could consider this place, but next time I'll spend the extra few bucks to stay anywhere else. The location was good - only a short drive from the Borgata. There was also a mini-fridge and a microwave in the room, but I unplugged them both as they were making odd noises.

the royal lodge was alright for the money. there was some water damage in the bathroom , the smell of some kind of air ... freshner was overpowering but was very quite . staff was very friendly and easy to get to the casinos

this hotel is at a great location and a beautiful view of the bay. but unfortunately thats all it got goin for it. the beds ... were clean however the carpet was dirty and loose and bathroom was stinky and shower leaked and outlet was jammed. zinc area was clean. room size ok parking was convenient and drive to city and beach not too bad. i have stayed at couple other hoetels and they are all similar but this one at least had a view.
