Try the Reading Terminal Market for lunch. There are plenty of local places with a stand in this historic building. Have a Philly cheesesteak, some ice cream and get some cookies for a snack on the way back to the hotel.

Very friendly staff, made the stay a real pleasure. The hotel has very comfortable rooms and a modern fitness center. It is ... located very close to shopping, dining and the historic area of the city.

A great night's sleep

The Westin Philadelphia offered pleasant staff, good security, and a nice room. The best part had to be the comfortable bed ... and bedding, which enabled us to sleep blissfully each of the three nights we stayed. The room temperature, digitally controlled, had to be the best of any hotel we've ever stayed in; changes were automatic, and we never felt stuffy or dry. The location of the hotel was great, too, as the trolley stops nearby and there's loads of shopping/restaurants within a short walk.
