Great October getaway
October respite Oct 25, 2009
Lovely location,October weather ideal. Our second story room itself was spotless and well appointed with terrific views but ... the bed linens could have been more crisp and freshly pressed. Bathroom was spacious with lots of fluffy towels; however not enough counter space, or hooks for hanging robes and towels. Dine at the on-site Duck Restaurant!

Be sure to try the Terrapin Creek Restaurant a short drive from the lodge for lunch or dinner. Immaculate and bright interior and deliciously prepared dishes, beautifully served. Owner-chef is also your waitperson. Terrapin is online if you'd like to check them out beforehand.

Plenty of little shops around. Most of them sell the same stuff, but mostly souvenirs. There is no chains of any store around, nor 24 hour places so if you want stuff for nighttime for drink/food, go buy some at a market nearby first.

Great rooms, great location
SA Jul 18, 2009
My wife and I actually had our expectations for a hotel exceeded in staying at the Bodega Bay Lodge. The rooms look like ... they have been rennovated recently and were new, clean, and updated with all modern ammenities (awesome bathroom and shower). We were updgraded to a room with a fireplace upon check-in without asking. We were also pleased to hear that there was a complimentary wine, cheese, and sparkling cider tasting from 5-6 pm in the lobby (and it was not one of those sleezy ones where you're expected to buy or be sold things you don't want). It was extremely casual and it seemed that most guests came to this. We were also given a parking pass when we asked where the nearest beach was. The breakfast was also very delicious and had solid portions for being at a nice restaurant. Basically, everything from check-in to check-out was enjoyable and stress free which is rare to find these days. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice get-away
Maji Jun 5, 2009
Booked this hotel based on the reviews I had read. Was looking pretty well when I did. First impressions of the Hotel was ... very nice and quiet. We arrived and the staff was very friendly to book us in. We actually arrived maybe 1.5 hours ahead of the standard 3pm Check in time and they still set us up. Got to the room and was nicely decorated. A bit small for $230.00 / room price, but the location was worth it really. We had a 2nd floor balcony room which overlooked the bay, but mostly it overlooked the Spa / Suite area of the resort. If you are there for the beach, ask the front Desk for a Pass to go down to the beach area, where if you didn't you would have to pay $6 for parking. You could walk down to the beach, but you're looking at maybe 1/4 mile down to the road and then through the sand. But if you don't want to walk, just get that pass and drive on down to a lot. Only had a few Downsides to the room: 1) Just before we were getting ready for bed, we noticed a blood stain on one of the pillows. We had not even got close to the pillows that day so we knew that was not ours. Quickly we sent that pillow to housekeeping and frontdesk. 2) We were looking to buy a Movie from the on-demand feature, but I guess they had a problem with it and could not get it to work THAT night so we missed out on a movie we wanted to see. The Duck Club restaurant was VERY elegant and pricey. I was not expecting that when I made reservations. Granted the food was GREAT, but we aren't the type of people who must have elegant food, and where a simple meal would suffice, but payed about $100 for just 2 of us, and that was just Meal and desert for 1. Again, nice place, but expect to pay alot if you go here.

Getaway from it all,in so much outdoor beauty
Joe&Diana Dec 2, 2008
This lodge appeared to be in the final stages of remodeling, which only effected us because of our beautiful room. Our view ... was exquisite, fireplace glowing, and room service impeccable. Of all of the staff, room service from the Duck Club, stood out the most for cuisine and presentation by the person delivering and setting it up. A pricy, but definite A+ getaway!

Nice, relaxing place to get away for the weekend
Tony Sep 15, 2008
Very nice and comfortable place to get away for a weekend. Room is nicely decorated, with a small balcony overlooking the ... bay. Fireplace in the room contributes to a romantic mood. Only thing I don't like is it's too far from the beach, making walking impossible.

A very clean and quiet space. Lovely views from the room with a cute balcony. Fresh, clean robes and plenty of towels to take ... to the spa area - hot tub is very hot tho' quite enjoyable once you get in! Did not eat at this location, but some really good places nearby and of course lots of great fresh fish on the menu's. Overall a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

A wonderful way to end a long hot day at the beach is only a short drive north to a fabulous turn-out to watch the sun set - pick up a tasty cheese cake from the Warf area Restuarant.

The staff was very friendly. I love the heated outdoor pool, as well as the outdoor hot tub. Ocean view was nice. We saw a ... couple whales (of course, my husband has great eyesight and can spot those spouts in a second!). Will definately return.
