A most original luxury hotel, the newly renovated Charles Hotel combines classic New England design and sophisticated service. You can see our character in our signature quilts, bountiful regional cuisine, and thoughtful planning. The Charles Hotel is located in the heart of Harvard Square, just minutes from downtown Boston, Massachusetts. The Charles Hotel, a AAA Four Diamond Hotel, offers the finest, most distinctive guest accommodations in the Boston area with 294 spacious guestrooms. Our renovated guest rooms include custom designed pieces, such as spacious cherry-wood desks, oversized clocks, Hi-Def LCD Plasma Televisions and hand-crafted quilts. Throughout the rooms are unique touches that celebrate The Charles' reputation as "Cambridge's most intellectual property," leading with the oversized black and white chalkboard drawing hanging in each room. Additionally, the rooms are furnished with a custom created professor's chair, and a hanging peg board that is reminiscent of a New England boarding school. Beginning in February 2007, guests will be able to take advantage of free local, national long distance, and 800 calls in their guest rooms. In addition, to the phone service, the hotel recently opened "Web Cubes" on each of its seven guest floors. The rooms serve as a mini work station for the executive on-the-go or as a convenience for the leisure guest who wants to send an email to the family back home. Open 24 hours a day, the Web Cubes include complimentary high-speed internet and printing. These are in addition to a complete business center on the first floor.

Great location for Cambridge visit

Jim Sep 21, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We arrived from Portland Maine to see a film festival at Kendell square where our daughter was opening in a film. The hotel ... was excellent as was the weather. Outside patio dining was a plus and a great healthy breakfast from Henrietta's Table was a good start to the day. The service at Henrietta's was slow however. Otherwise a great atmosphere and super location near the T system, Harvard Yard and Kendell Square. Downtown Boston was great as always.

Great hotel!

RA Jul 6, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The room was absolutely beautiful, decorated in Shaker style but very up to date. The coolest feature was that the TV in the ... bathroom was in the mirror! It's located by Harvard Square so is close to great restaurants. The hotel bar is open until 2 am, unlike rest of the places in the square! I stayed here so I could be close to family in Cambridge but it is not the ideal location if you plan to spend time in Boston (although there is a T-stop nearby)

very nice

anonymouse May 25, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

My fiancee and I had an excellent weekend stay at the Charles. The hotel is very nice and well maintained, the room was ... clean, and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The fitness center is part of a real gym, so they have a full complement of equipment and it is well maintained. I don't usually like people 'tidying' my space for me, so I put up the "do not disturb" sign for our entire stay. The staff called to inquire as to when they could tidy the room. I thought this was a nice touch, even though it wasn't necessary. The "entertainment console" in the room was a little clunky to operate and I didn't have much use for a TV in the bathroom, but overall the stay was excellent. I would definitely recommend the Charles.

From the moment we drove up, we were greeted with smiling faces who seemed as if they couldn't wait to assist us. Everyone ... went out of their way to make sure we were never inconvenienced and had everything we could need. Of course, the neighborhood couldn't be beat. We had a great time walking around the city. I would definately recommend this property and give the staff very high marks!

The Charles Hotel was amazing. Beautiful, modern hotel, with very helpful and professional staff at hand 24-7. The hotel is ... in a perfect location right in the heart of Harvard Square, you can walk to the T station or you can hail a cab and the quality of restaurants and services within the hotel are remarkable. I would recommend this hotel to couples or singles for a very pampered weekend away or for a whole vacation in Boston.

I have a promotion code.

What is a promotion code?

A promotion code is your key to redeeming discounts, special Orbitz offers and rewards. To redeem, enter your promotion code below, then look for hotels marked with the icon. We'll apply the discount to the total cost when you pay. Promotion codes can only be used once with each booking, and they're good only up to the total amount of your booking (including service fee and taxes) or promotion code amount, whichever is less.
