Among the hibiscus and oleander, on the shores of a picturesque natural harbor, The Fairmont Hamilton Princess is an elegant tribute to the old world splendor that is Bermuda. Take a dip in your choice of fresh or saltwater pool, catch the complimentary ferry over to our private Fairmont Beach Club at the Fairmont Southampton. Frolic with the dolphins at dockyard, or take a carriage ride into town.

Bermuda had gained International recognition in 1883 when Princess Louise, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, visited for a winter retreat and called it ''a place of eternal spring.'' The Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel in Bermuda is a symbol of all that Bermudians hold dear - old fashioned courtesy, timeless quality and genuine hospitality. Fondly referred to by Bermudians as ''The Pink Palace,'' The Fairmont Hamilton Princess opened its doors on January 1, 1885.

Imagine waking up to a view of clear blue skies and aquamarine waters dotted with colorful sailboats and sleek yachts. That is what's waiting for you at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess. Accommodations are decorated with subtle colors and elegant furnishings that reflect the Victorian heritage of the hotel. We have 410 guest rooms and suites, available in a wide choice of styles and sizes to suit the needs of every guest. Many of our rooms have a private balcony overlooking the harbor, while most other rooms offer views of the city or lush fragrant gardens. Please see the Guest Room and Suite descriptions at left for complete details of our luxurious accommodations.

The Fairmont Hamilton Princess is proud to showcase the Fairmont Gold floor. Both conceptually and practically, Fairmont Gold is a hotel within a hotel, featuring private check-in on the Fairmont Gold wing and amenities such as: an exquisite and private Fairmont Gold Lounge complete with honor bar, cocktail hour canapés, exclusive concierge, and complimentary breakfast.

Another great long weekend in Hamilton

16v Nov 16, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

Our second visit to the Hamilton Princess this year was great. On arrival, much to our surprise, we were upgraded to a ... harbor view suite; a plush king sized bed with full bath on one side and a well appointed sitting room on the other. The only thing missing was access to the small fridge (it was in the locked wetbar). Cocktails on the patio overlooking Hamilton Harbor at sunset were fantastic! The entire staff were super helpful and personable - everyone we encountered were quick to offer "good morning/afternoon/evening", making us feel welcome

Went to Bermuda by myself thinking in was in the carribean, surprised and dissappointed to find out it's off the ... Carolinas. Water was to cold to go in, cloudy skies & town was devoid of any life during X-mas holiday. Lonely going... Hotel staff advised me to reserve a taxi for 15 Min. ride back to airport, In the morning there was 7 taxis out front for 7 seven travellers all heading to the ONE & ONLY airport. No wonder the hotel does not provide a shuttle. $35 Taxi back + tip Each adds up to big$$$ for the islanders. Have a beautiful day...

We took the bus into town and bought a 3 day pass that was good for the bus system and ferry system which can take you all ... over Bermuda for a total of 28.00, great value (you do need 4.50 in quarters to get on the bus at the airport). Close to town and great restaurants. People are extremely friendly and the island is so clean and beautiful.

It's hard to get around in Bermuda. No sidewalks = walking can be dangerous. Rented scooters are also suicidal, as are pedal bikes. The roads are very narrow making it hard for even cars and buses. Taxis are very expensive, and buses are OK but you need to know what you are doing and where you are going. Don't know how folks get around really!???

If you plan on traveling around the island, the best value is a bus/ferry pass. For example, a four day adult pass (for unlimited bus and ferry use)is only $35. Using public transportation was a really great way to see the island. A very important tip: blue bus stop poles mean the bus is headed away from Hamilton, pink means it's headed towards the city.

Nightlife tip, Short Walk

Hamilton Princess is a five minute walk to Front St shopping, dining, and nightlife. We recommend Harry's at The Waterfront on Pitts Bay for late afternoon drinks where you might just happen to meet the owner at the corner seat on the bar. Bartender "Fletch" is the man!

Shopping tip, Short Walk

Stock up on grocery store grub and avoid the pricey room service

The Lobster Pot was good. The Barracuda was a 5 star restaurant and very good.

Shopping tip, Short Walk

Do not hesitate to take the walk instead of one of the many taxi's available. The people are friendly and helpful. (day or night)

Money savers tip

The local bus service is good and much cheaper than taxis.

Dining tip, Short Drive

You have to taxi everywhere because they do not rent cars in Bermuda

Dining tip, Short Walk

It's hard to get around in Bermuda. No sidewalks = walking can be dangerous. Rented scooters are also suicidal, as are pedal bikes. The roads are very narrow making it hard for even cars and buses. Taxis are very expensive, and buses are OK but you need to know what you are doing and where you are going. Don't know how folks get around really!???

Dining tip, Short Walk

While the hotel food is great and should be sampled, make arrangements for lunch/dinner to eat in one of the several restaurants within walking distance. Pretty much all the restaurants in town also include 17% gratuity on the check regardless of party size, so be mindful.

Money savers tip

If you plan on traveling around the island, the best value is a bus/ferry pass. For example, a four day adult pass (for unlimited bus and ferry use)is only $35. Using public transportation was a really great way to see the island. A very important tip: blue bus stop poles mean the bus is headed away from Hamilton, pink means it's headed towards the city.

Dining tip, Short Walk

Try the Lobster Pot for fresh sea food at resonable prices. Dining at the hotel was ok.

Dining tip, Short Walk

Go into nearby town (a few minute walk) and enjoy the restaurants there vs. the hotel. We loved Portofino and Harry's.

--Island Hopper, Florham Park, NJ Aug 9, 2009

Money savers tip

If you're not averse to taking public transportation, Bermuda has a great system from one end of the island to the other.

Dining tip, Short Walk

Silk and Pickled Onion a short walk away and very good.

--happy traveler, new jersey Aug 6, 2009

Shopping tip, Short Walk

Front street is a short 5 min walk from the hotel which was great. There are many resturants and shops to go to. The ferry is also right there.

--Roxane, Brooklyn, NY Aug 3, 2009

Money savers tip

The Hamilton ferry terminal, a five-minute walk from the hotel, provides access to most parts of the island. You may obtain ferry schedules and buy single- or multi-day passes from the hotel concierge. Doing so will eliminate the hassle of having to buy last-minute ferry tokens (and bus fare, for that matter!). Definitely take advantage of public transportation, as taxi fares are astronomical! And: DON'T RENT SCOOTERS! They are accidents-waiting-to-happen!

--Jill-of-All-Trades, Williamsburg, Virginia Aug 2, 2009

Shopping tip, Short Walk

Shopping was right down the road. 5 minutes walk.

--Mim, Washington, DC Jul 27, 2009

Dining tip, Short Walk

There are many great restaurants in Hamilton. We did have trouble finding a place to have breakfast on Sun morning-stick to the hotel!
